Lake Maharloo in Shiraz, previously known as the ‘Pink Lake’, has now completely dried up after struggling with drought for the past few years, the state-run Tasnim news agency reported.
Lake Maharloo is located around 18 kilometers southeast of Shiraz. This lake dried up due to droughts, irregular use of the lakebed and inexperienced farming, forcing the lake into the conditions you see today.
Many migrant birds used to call this place home, and yet they are left with something only possible under the mullahs’ rule in Iran.
