The Los Angeles Times issued a report on Saturday, September 5th following the meeting between US President Barack Obama and King Salman of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudis are asking Washington to provide heavy weapons to confront Iran, and they are pressuring Obama to increase his efforts to stop Iran and its proxies in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen.
Riyadh is demanding acceleration in the efforts by the US in delivering heavy weaponry to this country, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jobeir said.
LA Times added Obama administration officials responded to Riyadh concerns over Tehran by accepting commitments to provide arms and support Saudi Arabia in various fields.
