The French daily Le Figaro in its last edition published in 2011 in a column described the Iranian regime reaching its physical and spiritual end.
Calling the mullahs’ dictatorship as one of the important threats of 2012, Le Figaro said, “… to be short, the Iranian regime’s ‘Khomeinistic’ revolution after 33 years of twists and turns has reached its physical and spiritual end. Both inside Iran due to the 2009 movement that later on inspired the feelings of change in Arab nations; and also due to its nuclear dossier with technical problems to finalize the project on one hand and the threat of reaching a new more crucial phase of conflict on the other, should most likely force the leadership circle of this country to think strategically about its policies. Apparently, it lacks the ability of such thinking.”
Le Figaro’s columnist added: “The Iranian regime is actually encircled from all directions, not only by the US and its allies, but due to an old nightmare that is coming true for the first time. And that is a successful revolution in the region.”
