Mullah Mesbahi Moghadam, a member of the Iranian regime’s Majlis (parliament) Economy Commission indirectly mentioned plans by Khamenei’s faction to eliminate Ahmadinejad’s post as president.
“The country’s current political structure is facing difficulties that have caused the leader to mention the subject of the possibility of bringing about modifications in the country’s political structure,” this mullah said. “This shows that there is a heavy challenge between the government and Majlis, where the government is not implementing laws passed by the Majlis.”
In response to a question regarding Khamenei’s intent of using the phrase “far future” regarding a change in the structure of the sovereignty, this member of the Economy Commission said, “Of course, sometimes the conditions we are in bring the far future actually very close.”
