Mullah Saeedi, Khamenei’s representative in the Revolutionary Guards, revealed serious rifts among the regime’s senior ranks and said there are those who intend to force the leader to surrender.
“Today, the grounds are ready to spread Islam throughout the world and we must continue the struggle. Negotiating with the US means retreat for the nation and the leader. There are those who want to enter the ring while we have serious strategic differences with the US on issues such as Gaza, Palestine, Hezbollah, the Shiite government in Iraq and Islamic awakening (term regime officials use for the Arab Spring) in the region,” he said in a gathering of IRGC and Bassij forces.
