The Baghdad Post, 17 June 2017 – On April 9th, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Qassem Soleimani visited the Kurdistan region.
A number of photographs on social media show the leader of the Quds Force was accompanied by a number of Iran-allied IMIS leaders including Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes during his visit to the city of Karbala.
Soleimani visited the Imam Hussein Shrine in Karbala, in addition to visiting a popular market amid the presence of many Shiite citizens. Iranian Tasnim news agency published pictures of the terrorist Soleimai while praying on the Iraqi-Syrian border, along with a number of Fatimiyan militia members.
The objective of Soleimani’s visit to Iraq
According to analysts, Soleimani’s visit sought to cause troubles between Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
Recently, a surprise meeting between the two main parties, headed by President of the region Massoud Barzani melted the ice between both sides.
