Admission to millions of dollars in salaries and benefits paid to government officials
Iran, tehran.May, 12, 2017– The hardline mullah Raisi responded to a quote by the vice president Jahangiri who was talking about smuggled goods entering the country.
Raisi lashing out against the administration’s official for being involved in the private sector, which as he put it, was the main recipient of the smuggled goods said: “You are asking where these smuggled goods come from, today 18 billion [toomans] or even as he says 12 billion toomans of smuggled goods enter Iran. The point is that the government can stop this but what happens to all those goods coming to Iran illegally?”
By calling the government corrupt, Raisi added “A government in which its own officials have hand in the private sectors is obvious that would benefit from all those illegal goods. It is obvious that such a government is not able to stop the smuggling.”
Galibaf, another hardline candidate using the occasion to lash out against vice president Jahangiri said the first step to preventing smuggled goods entering the country is prevention. A move that this administration is incapable of doing.”
