
The chairman of Iran’s parliament budget committee revealed that the country had a budget deficit of 7 to 10 billion tomans in 2014 for paying its subsidies.
In an interview on Iran’s state run TV. Gholamreza Tajgardoon said that in light of keeping the high income people on the subsidies, the government has a 7 to 10 billion tomans budget deficit to be able to pay all subsidies.
According to Tajgardoon this year the country can save 48 billion tomans from cutting subsidies and 11,300 million tomans have been allocated from the general budget to be paid for the subsidies which would run a total of 59,300 million tomans.
