Iranian workers demonstrate on two successive days despite state ban

Despite extensive suppressive measures by the clerical regime, thousands of workers turned the international Labor Day ceremonies throughout the Iranian cities into anti-regime demonstrations and protests during Wednesday and Thursday.

On Thursday, the deprived workers of Kermanshah staged anti-government demonstration. This demonstration started at 9 a.m. in front of Labor office; the workers gathered there and chanted anti-government slogans. In fear of spreading out the demonstration, the clerical regime sent its suppressive special forces to the scene and also sent helicopter to scare the people; but despite these measures the workers of Dalahu Company, too, joined the other demonstrators.

In Semnan, northeastern Iranian city, more than 4,000 workers demonstrated and commemorated Labor Day; They carried placards that asked dismissals of temporary occupational contracts, provision of occupational security, increase of salaries proportional to inflation and domicile problem; this demonstration was held at a condition that demonstrations were banned by the government.

In Qazvin, the workers of the Industrial town workers staged demonstration.

In Sanandaj, western Iranian city, a great number of workers staged demonstration both in morning and afternoon in Revolution Square and Nobovvat Square. The suppressive agents dispersed them but they gathered 2 kilometers away from the city and continued their demonstration. 4 workers including two women named sousan Bazari and Shiva Khairabadi were arrested

The workers of Qom also staged protesting gathering of Labor Day at Hosseiniyeh Eshqali.
