Based on a report from the Ardebil Province Public Relations’ Office, one person was executed in the city of Ardebil (northwestern Iran) on charges of purchasing and possessing 900 grams of heroin.
This individual’s death sentence was approved after being issued by the Ardebil Province judiciary. The Iranian regime resorts to execution and torture of political and ordinary prisoners in order to create a climate of fear and maintain control on an explosive society.
