The situation is tense in Kurdish cities and towns in Iran following the death of an innocent young girl who tried to escape an assault by an intelligence agent in Mahabad.
This heinous crime by the clerical regime’s agent not only sparked anger among people in Mahabad, but prompted vast protest and demonstration in other Kurdish cities.
People in Sar Dasht, 45mi south of Mahabad, northwestern Iran clashed with the Suppressive Security Forces, SSF, during a demonstration in support and solidarity with the victim’s family. The clashes led to injury of a number of demonstrators and dozens were also arrested.
