To create a climate of fear to confront popular uprisings, state-run media in Iran have reported that the clerical dictatorship has resorted to establishing a new repressive unit called the “Honor Police”. 
“The Honor Police will begin its work in Tehran this year,” State Security Force deputy commander Ahmad Reza Radan said in an interview with the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency. “According to the Armed Forces HQ’s agenda, this year we will witness the presence of Honor Police units in our country.”
