Iranian MPs linked to Khamenei lash out at Geneva agreement

INTV, 24 Nov 2013 – Mehrdad Bazrpash in today’s open session of the Majlis (parliament) made harsh remarks on the vague and incoherent remarks heard from Rouhani’s cabinet regarding the Geneva agreement.
“With these news reports we are practically coming to realize that nearly every single one of our development programs have been stopped and I didn’t understand what we received in return,” he said.
“This text that was signed was named a treaty, agreement or what? This issue that has been approved, what is it called? They must come and explain all of this before the MPs,” Bazrpash added.
Finally, he referred to the ridiculous attempts made by Rouhani’s foreign minister in trying to cover up the forgoing of the right to enrichment, which the regime had descried as a red line, and said, “According to published reports the right to enrichment has not been clearly stated in this document. This is while this subject was part of our red lines. Our foreign minister has said that this is stated in the treaties with the International Atomic Energy Agency and there is no need for it to be stated again.”
Heidar Rasaei, MP from Tehran, said in Sunday’s Majlis session, “The MPs are still in the dark on what has been agreed on. On the agreement with the P5+1 the foreign minister says one thing, the president says another, and the US Secretary of State says something else, then we see the 8 o’clock saying this is all incoherent. I don’t know what agreement has actually been made and we are not informed of what took place.”
