Iranian hackers linked to the IRGC attacked German universities

Germany, April 22, 2018 – The German weekly der Spiegel reported on Sunday, April 22 that Iranian hackers linked to the Iran Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have attacked and rubbed a large number of unpublished research studies from 23 German universities and educational institutions.

The report says that investigators have tracked the hackers to an institution called "MABNA" linked and operated by the Iranian regime. German security inspectors say that MABNA is linked to Iran's IRGC.

German der Spiegel report, says that the hacking attacks that started in 2014 still continue. The hackers have managed to attack and steal the information of 34 staffers, including unpublished papers and research results from scientific studies and also the Ph.D. thesis and scientific reports from an array of meetings.

The top German prosecutor has filed a subpoena against the hackers who he calls their crime as "espionage activities."
