State-run media outlets reported the ruling of eight women in Khuzestan Province were revoked a week after reports indicated their appointment as demarches. State-run media outlets said this suspension is due to the opposition from scholars and members of the regime’s so-called Council of Experts.
Following the opposition of Khuzistan scholars and a number of cultural figures, Hossein-ali Amiri, deputy interior minister ordered the suspension of these appointments, the state-run asriran.com website reported.
“The Interior Ministry doesn’t wish to see the disappointment of cultural figures and scholars in Khuzistan Province!” Amiri said.
