An Iranian regime state-run media issued a story admitting to drought conditions reaching the province of Iran’s Lorestan Province in the country’s western regions.
Following the increasing drying of Urumieh lake and river, the Kashkan River that passes through three Lorestan towns is breathing its last breaths these days, the state-run Mehr news agency reported. If the drought years continue, the regime’s own experts believe a devastating catastrophe consisting of water being completely cut off from regions in southern Lorestan is in the making.
This state-run media outlet referred to the mullahs’ destructive policies and added, “During the past few years with droughts increasing and continental changes, the sources of Kashkan River have been drying further and further and does not thrive like before. This has become a concerning issue for the experts.”
A water source expert said, “The Kashkan River is breathing its last breaths and if the drought of recent years continues, this river will be completely dried up. Based on figures from the Kashkan-Poldokhtar hydrometric station, the water provided by this river on August 5th was equivalent to 1.33 cubic meters per second. In comparison to figures from the same period last year where water flow was 3.07 cubic meters per second, this shows a 56 %decrease. In comparison to the figures registered over 50 years ago when water flow was 15.04 cubic meters per second, it shows a 91% decrease.”
