AFP, Paris, 16 Jan 2012 – Several violations of an embargo on Iran importing or exporting arms have been identified by a UN group of experts in the context of protest-hit Syria, the French foreign ministry said on Monday.
‘We condemn these violations and call on Iran and Syria to comply with (UN) Security Council resolutions,’ a ministry spokesman said in response to a question about a US accusation that Tehran was sending arms to Damascus.
