Writers, philosophers and intellectuals in the city of Urumia gathered on Wednesday, Dec. 3rd in front of the Cultural Heritage department of the city to protest the government’s inaction regarding the gradual erosion of the City’s Ancient Bazar which is one of the most historic and tourist attraction in the country. According to this report, the Grand Bazar of Urumia is more than ever on the threat of being destroyed.
Protesters said that the threat of destruction of one of the oldest and historic icons in this city has been the issue of many protest and the alarm bell had been sound from long ago, but the authorities ignorance and the corruption in the government has prevented any action by them to renovate and maintain this historic icon.
