The state-run ‘Javan’ daily, the mouthpiece of Iran’s Bassij militants, used the recent European Parliament resolution to stage another round of attacks against the nuclear agreement and Rafsanjani himself. This newspaper published a piece on Sunday, April 6th saying, “Many analysts believe the approach taken by the new government has led to this audacity. However, the reason must be reviewed a bit further back and then one will reach the government.”
“With Hashemi Rafsanjani coming to power and his presence at the top of the executive branch… this period in the state’s history will come with de-structuring (meaning calls for overthrow) and crossing red lines… widespread relations with foreign circles and retreating from positions emphasized by the leader on the nuclear dossier,” this article added.
