Iran state official: some verdicts have to be carried out in public

Head of the judiciary in Iran’s Fars Province said some so-called Islamic punishments such as whipping or executions in public are inevitable necessities.
“Conducting specific punishments in public is of course a demand of the public,” he claimed.
“A very important issue that we take into consideration after carrying out punishments, public executions and qisas ‘retribution-in-kind’ is the public’s consent! The society must reach consent in their conscience after qisas punishments,” he added.
