Iran – SSF build up before the anniversary of the uprising

Iran Focus, Tehran, 26 Dec 2012 – Since 3:00 am, State Security Forces and the paramilitary Bassij have been out in forces in most of the capital’s streets, including Vali-e Asr, Rezai-ha (Haft-e Tir), Narmak and Pirouzi streets. Thursday marks the third anniversary of 27 December 2009 (coinciding with the Shiite holy day of Ashura), when tens of thousands of people staged a major anti-government uprising in Tehran and other cities.
