Recent reports from Iran indicate special guards in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison staged a major attack on Thursday night, July 30th, on ward 8 of this prison under the pretext of conducting inspections. They trashed all the inmates’ belongings, yet faced stiff resistance from the prisoners who fought back against the repressive forces. A Dervish prisoner known to have heart problems suffered a stroke and went unconscious in this attack. He was transferred to a hospital.
