Retired employees of Metal and Steel Industry residing in ShahrKurd and Chahar-Mahal regions staged a gathering in front of the offices of the Steel Retirement Fund in western Sa’adi Street. More than 300 personnel participated in this gathering which ended in scuffles and clashes between the employees and police forces. This gathering created a 5 hours traffic jam in the city. The poverty stricken people who are suffering from high cost of living and low wages have become united in protesting the government inaction and incompetency.
