
According to supplementary reports on Iran crackdown and the vicious raid carried out by Iranian regime agents to quell the riot erupting in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, west of Tehran, on Sunday, August 17th, the regime had even resorted to dispatching repressive forces from Tehran.
With the riot escalating in protest to executions, prison guards were seen fleeing from various halls in unit 2 of this prison.
When the authorities lost control of this unit, the special guard units of Gohardasht Prison, Karaj Central Prison, Kachui and from Tehran were all dispatched to Ghezel Hesar, placing the facility under an entire siege. They opened fire on the prisoners, killing 5 and injuring 15 others.
