The Nurse Society executive boards in Yazd and Khorasan Razavi provinces protested the expulsion of four nurses from Tehran’s Amir A’lam Hospital who took part in various protest rallies. Cheraghi and Ghasemi Zarnushe are two of the expelled nurses. The names of two other nurses have not been announced.
The Yazd Province Nurse Society executive board condemned the expulsion of these four nurses as “cruel”.
The Mashhad Nurse Organization also condemned the expulsion of four nurses in Tehran under orders issued by the Health Ministry. Nurses are saying these orders are illegally replacing the law of pricing nurses’ services, the law of increasing productivity and the law on harsh and damaging labor.
The law on pricing nurses’ services was adopted back in July 2007 by the so-called parliament and arrangements were made for the regulations of this law to be codified by the Health Ministry, Ministry of Welfare and Nurse Welfare Organization. However to this day this law has not been implemented due to “lack of credit for the Health Ministry”.
Instead of implementing this law, the Health Ministry has ordered “payments based on performance”, raising protests by numerous nurses in Tehran and various other cities.
