Teachers staged protest gatherings on Monday in Tehran and other cities in Iran, including part of Khorasan province, Zarrin-Shahr, Isfahan, Khorram-Abad, Shahriyar, Islam-Shahr, Eoabat-Karim, Shaheza, Divan-Dareh, Kursistan, and some other parts of the country, in a coordinated manner while skipping classes.
The protest was aimed at reopening a draft resolution in regime’s parliament aimed at “increasing job bonuses and payments for government personnel” without considering the salaries of teachers. The teachers also said: “We do not expect any improvement in teachers’ living condition”. They also said: “the expenses for paying house utilities like water, electricity, gasoline, and daily needs such as bread, meat and other item are more than %30 higher than our salaries. Where the increased salary forecasted for next year is less than %14 percent which does not meet the rise in the cost of living.
