Iran: protest against secret detention of 20 Kurdish activists.

A large demonstration on Friday Nov. 1 in Sanandaj resulted in the arrest of more than 20 people which their whereabouts are unknown. These activists were arrested by the IRGC intelligence agents.
The families of 17 of those arrested have gathered outside the justice office in Sanandaj demanding to see their loved ones. They also demanded to speak with the prosecuting attorney but they were denied meeting him.
Finally the demonstrator’s perseverance forced the prosecutor to meet with a delegation from the protesting families.
According to the human rights activists the prosecutor’s response to their demand was that these 20 individuals were guilty and must remain in prison. But the mother of Omid Zarei, one of the prisoners shouted “my son is innocent and if you don’t free him, I will put myself a blaze.” Following this ultimatum, the father of another inmate also shouted that his son was also innocent and that they would stay there until their loved ones are freed.
The prosecutor had told them that their sons and daughters would be freed Wednesday, but it never happened. The families have not heard anything about them since their arrest.
