Makarem Shirazi, a senior mullah in Iran, called for patrols of “promoting virtue and prohibiting vice”, and teaching this issue in all levels of schools. “It wouldn’t be surprising” if a ministry was formed for this very cause, he added.
“Promoting virtue is everyone’s right, not a duty… and a right must be demanded,” he said in a speech on Sunday, March 13.
“Promoting virtue and prohibiting vice patrols must be launched in the society” and this subject “should be taught in all classes,” Shirazi continued.
