As a mean of protest against the repressive policies and treatment of prisoners, inmates at the notorious Gohardasht Prison, located in the city of Karaj, northwestern Iran take off their shoes and go barefoot to family meetings, a report from inside Iran has revealed.
The report also says that on Wednesday, June 8, following brutal and humiliating behavior of the prison guards forcing prisoners to wear slippers when having family reunion, the political prisoners in Hall 12 of the prison in a concerted action went barefoot to the meeting with their families.
The political prisoners’ move was applauded by the other prisoners.
