Iran political prisoner’s letter to international organization pleading for justice

The following is a letter smuggled out of the notorious Evin Prison in Iran calling on the international organizations pleading for justice and forcing Iran regime to heed to global human rights standards.

The full text of the letter is as follows

With greetings,
And a worthy respect to all the international bodies who are observant and sympathetic towards the world’s oppressed,

My name is Alireza Golipoor, born on April, 11, 1986, a student of doctorate in Communications, a high rank employee of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and a member of the National Association of Iranian Elites.
I was sentenced to 39 years and 9 months imprisonment at branch 15th of the (so-called) Revolutionary Court on allegations of “gathering and collusion, supporting PMOI, sending “confidential information” out of the country on behalf of PMOI and USA and passing the border illegally, upon my detention on Oct. 2, 2012. I was also condemned to 170 lashes for offending the officials and the Leadership (Khamenei).
Before I start, I should say that I don’t expect you to believe any of the following because in an era that a small violation of civil and human rights rises voices, and even the animals have rights, it is hard (to believe) that in a country that claims about Islamic human rights and exporting of it to the world, to witness such cases and to suffer as such. But what can I do? All the issues I am laying out in form of questions are what has happened to me. Both I and other witnesses in wards 2A and 209 (of Evin Prison) are willing to fully testify in any court; to testify against all these atrocities:
• Isn’t being in a solitary confinement for one year and 17 days, with a direct spot light focused on your face, which causes disruption in your sight, violation of human rights?
• Isn’t beating with lash and threatening to be raped, sitting on the chest and covering the mouth with a blanket violation of human rights?
• Isn’t telling you that your mother is dead (a lie) and then implementing psychological and corporal pressures during interrogation, violation of human rights?
• Isn’t being banned from any visit or call, in security wards for two years without laying an eye on any newspaper of television, violation of human rights?
• Aren’t being inflicted with heart, lung and lymphatic glands problems, inflammation of veins in leg, distance between back vertebras and hair fall due to physical and psychological pressures, beating during interrogations, interrogations over 36 hours without permission to sleep; violations of human rights?
• Isn’t reporting by the order of security bodies, that you are acting to be sick, while you are suffering from severe pain, violation of human rights?
• Isn’t collecting all documents, documentaries, lecture books, ID cards, personal photos from your home and workplace so that your family would not be able to prove that their child even existed, violation of human rights?
• Isn’t forcing you to have an interview, putting pressure on you to repent and deny what you had said violation of human rights?
• Isn’t, not having a lawyer, threatening your family that they should not hire a lawyer, threatening that they will execute you, threatening your family that they will be detained if they talk to anybody (about you), violation of human rights?

My friends and my brothers!
How many more lives should parish, how many lives should be destroyed, how many more countries should turn to hell with the export of “revolution” by this regime or by their meddling, before you start to act?
I’ve gone through all of the above mentioned facts. Do you think that these savages will stop putting pressure on people by sanctions? Do you think that by sanctions they will put lashing, pressure and imprisonment aside and give way to the elites, their criticizers and those who really care?
I swear to God that this will not happen!!!
This is a short story of a person enchained by these mercenaries to say that there are still people who resist despite all these savage treatments, people who yearn to see the freedom of their compatriots; those who are tolerating the hardship of prison instead of gaining money and power and position so that the voice of their people telling the truth would be heard.

In hope of a free Iran
Alireza Golipoor
