
Nine political prisoners in Ward 350 of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison launch hunger strike protesting vicious raids staged by security units. The attackers storming the women’s ward included 20 torturers who body searched, beat and physically and psychologically tortured the political prisoners.
Furthermore, 26 political prisoners in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj (west of Tehran) issued a statement protesting the vicious raid against women political prisoners in Evin. A portion of this statement reads in part: “We political prisoners announce our protest regarding inhumane and illegal approaches, and express our concerns regarding the wellbeing of prisoners in the women’s section of Evin’s Ward 350 who are on hunger strike.
