Iran: political prisoners in Urumieh prison banned from traditional Kurdish clothing

Mir-Mohammad Seyed Alavi, internal director of Urumieh prison ordered political prisoners in this jail on Wednesday, September 2 that they are no longer permitted to wear traditional Kurdish clothing in the prison, and their clothing will be confiscated if they don’t abide by these regulations.
Back in September 2011 along with a similar order the prison’s special guard raided the political prisoners’ ward and confiscated all Kurdish clothing, handwritings, memoirs and other personal items. (September 5, 2015)
