INTV, 26 Oct 2013 – The mullahs’ henchmen in Urumieh Central Prison executed political prisoner Habibollah Golparipoor on Friday night. Family and friends of this political prisoner had gathered outside Khomeini Hospital in Urumieh on Saturday morning to receive his body.
Habibollah Golparipoor was accused and sentenced to death on the charge of measures against state security. He had been detained in Mahabad (western Iran) since fall of 2009 and held in the prisons of Mahabad, Urumieh, Sanandaj and Semnan where he was placed under intense physical and psychological tortures.
Amnesty International and other human rights organizations had on numerous occasions called for his death sentence to be revoked.
