INTV, 10 Oct 2013 – Political prisoner Ahmad Tamuei, detained in Urumieh Central Prison in northwestern Iran, wrote a letter to the United Nations Special Rapporteur revealing the tortures he has gone through.
“For two months I have been tortured on charges of ‘propaganda against the establishment’. Due to the severe torture I have went unconscious twice. The interrogators demanded that I agree with a TV interview. When I didn’t, they said a death sentence has been issued for me in abstentia, and then they blindfolded me and took me to carry out the execution…Right now I am being held in one of the most dangerous wards of this prison and I have no security at all,” he wrote in part.
