Iran: Pol prisoners on hunger strike determined to continue campaign

Political prisoners in Iran’s Gohardasht Prison west of Tehran issued a statement emphasizing they will continue their hunger strike until Evin political prisoners are returned from solitary confinement to Ward 350. The statement is as follows:
“Thank you to all personalities, associations, centers, political & human rights parties that have asked us to end our hunger strike. We must say in humility we will only end our hunger strike when all our colleagues are returned from solitary confinement. These inmates have been severely beaten, heard insults and profanity, shaved their heads and to this day have been on hunger strike in solitary confinement and enjoy the backing of us and all you dear supporters.
“Therefore, instead of asking us to end our hunger strike, we should all in one voice demand from the regime to return them to Ward 350.
“Furthermore, this hunger strike is aimed at defending all prisoners, including ourselves, because there is no guarantee that similar future attacks will not take place.
“This comes in conditions that the regime has given all concessions to the P5+1, but in the face of Iranian citizens such barbarity is used and they are not willing to respect even our minimum human rights.”
