The state-run Tabnak website published a report revealing the special salaries of Iran’s officials for just one day equals the salary hardworking workers receive in one month.
On Wednesday, Iran’s Majlis (parliament) rejected a bill eliminating special salaries for officials on foreign trips.
“Currently, Majlis members receive $130 dollars (equal to 3,250,000 rials) for each day on mission. Government office managers last year received $65 dollars each day on mission (equal to 1,625,000 rials),” this media outlet wrote.
“Even when managers and government officials are not present in the country and on mission, they continue to receive their maximum pay for working more than 175 hours a month,” Tabnak added while explaining how these officials and managers receive more special salaries in one day than a worker received in a whole month.
