Opposing gender equality and preventing women from freely taking part in various activities and job opportunities has become a subject defended very publicly by extremist mullahs ruling Iran.
In the latest of such remarks, Hossein Mazaheri, head of the Isfahan seminary said men and women working side by side in education centers, such as schools and universities is against state objectives.
“Women teaching men and men teaching women, or mixed management in various centers will make the society un-Islamic!” he stipulated.
He went on to stress on gender segregation plans in the country’s universities and said, “Gender segregation have been implemented in a number of Isfahan Province colleges, and this has had a major impact on increasing the quality of education for the students!”
