Ali Mohammad Ahmadi, an Iranian MP from the city of Dehloran, in his remarks in the Majlis (parliament) on Sunday, July 20th, said there is increasing unemployment in the factories of Ilam Province located in western Iran.
“Most of the factories in this province and industrial complexes are facing unemployment problems forcing them to close down. The Dehloran Cement Company, Dehloran Petrochemical Company, the oil refinery and company, the NGI 3100 project and other projects that could have had vast impacts on the country’s economy are all closed down. This could have also helped the unemployment problem in this province which has the lowest population in the country; however we have the highest percentage of unemployment. Unfortunately, there are no such measures taken in this regard,” he said.
