Iran: man executed in Evin to cover up for main thieves of massive 30 trillion rial theft case

An individual by the name of Mah-Afarid Amir Khosravi, one of the suspects in the famous bank fraud case known as the 30 trillion rial case (then worth around $2.6bn), was executed early Saturday morning, according to state-run media outlets.
“The execution ruling of Mahafarid Amir Khosravi was carried out early morning on Saturday, 24 May 2014, in Evin Prison charged with ‘corruption on Earth’ through disrupting the country’s economic structure,” the Iranian regime’s official IRNA news agency cited the mullahs’ public prosecutor office saying.
“500 people are suspects in the 30 trillion rial case,” said Dehghani, a member of Iran’s Majlis (parliament), on May 22nd. “Who in the senior government were behind this huge theft? One person alone cannot enter the government and commit this much corruption. There were people who supported them from inside the government.”
