Speaker of the Iranian regime’s Majlis Ali Larijani threatened Ahmadinejad saying that it is better to present the budget bill to Majlis because we have elections coming up next year. In an interview with the IRGC affiliated news agency Larijani said: “The budget bill must be presented to Majlis on December 5th, and every day that it is delayed is a mistake. Yet, within the past years we have unfortunately witnessed big delays in presenting the budget bill to the Majlis. This isn’t in the country’s interest. We hope that this mistake will not be repeated in the upcoming year’s budget, since we have elections coming up next year. It is best that the budget be presented to the Majlis earlier so that we would not have these problems.” In this interview, Larijani once again confronted Ahmadinejad and said: “Majlis has the right to interpolate and ask questions, such issues are part of the Majlis’ essential duties. Regarding asking questions from the president, I asked the Supreme Leader in this regard, he didn’t give a formal answer … therefor he let the Majlis members decide on it.”
