A young man who was injured during the Mahabad uprisings died on June 30th in the Urumia Hospital.
After numerous threats and blackmail attempts and withholding from handing over this student’s corpse to his family, he was finally transferred to Mahabad. The youth’s death comes at a time when state officials deny opening fire on the Mahabad uprising.
The Mahabad uprisings followed protests to the death of Farinaz Khosravani, a young girl who while fleeing from the hands of an intelligence agent trying to rape her, fell down from the city’s hotel and lost her life.
