Layegh Kordpour, a prisoner of conscience in Kermanshah’s Deizel Abad Prison, sowed his lips in protest to the dire prison conditions and discriminatory treatment of the prison officials.
Layegh Kordpour was detained in Javanroud in December 2010 and after spending two months in Kermanshah’s Intelligence Department was transferred to Evin Prison’s Ward 209 and was eventually transferred to Karaj’s Rajai Shahr Prison. It is said that previously, a year and eight months of this religious activist’s sentence was pardoned, yet the Ministry of Intelligence and Security revoked the pardon. (Kordpa, June 24, 2014)
