Iran: kidney illness of pol prisoner intensifies; no treatment provided

Kurdish political prisoner Zeinab Jalalian, detained in Iran’s Kermanshah Prison, is suffering from a growing kidney illness and is in serious conditions. However, prison authorities are not providing her access to medical treatment.
“She is suffering from severe kidney pain and her conditions are deteriorating. The prison authorities are doing nothing to provide her medical treatment,” said an individual close to Jalalian. This political prisoner has been suffering from an eye illness for years and being deprived of any treatment has led to her illness expanding.
Zeinab Jalalian was arrested in 2007 by Ministry of Intelligence agents in Kermanshah and sentenced to death by a so-called court. This ruling was then reduced to life in prison. This political prisoner has been under severe pressure while in detention and has gone on hunger strike many times protesting her dire status.
