Iran: Isfahan Prison launches new IRGC intel ward

Reports indicate the former quarantine section of Isfahan’s Dastgerd Prison has been transformed into the “Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Ward.”
Around 15 individuals under security and political charges are currently held in this maximum security ward.
Furthermore, according to credible information, Qanbar-Ali Safari, an ordinary prisoner severely beaten and transferred to solitary confinement during an attack by the prison’s counterintelligence chief (Abbas Gorji) and his forces against ward 3, is currently held in this ward. Safari was severely beaten and transferred to solitary confinement, and now faces charges of attempting to discover the identities of various prisoners held in the IRGC intel ward.
Incoming reports indicate Safari has suffered severe injuries to his hand and head, and is currently in very poor conditions. However, he has been placed under torture by the prison’s counterintelligence officers, reports add.
Prisoners in wards adjacent to the prison’s solitary confinement section have reportedly heard Safari screaming under torture on numerous occasions during the past two days.
