A ward in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj, west of Tehran, witnessed abnormal inspections by security agents and special guards, media reports from inside Iran indicate. During the course of these inspections tension and sporadic clashes between prisoners and the guards were seen in various sections.
This inspection was conducted at 2 am and in some cases the guards were seen resorting to violence and destroying the prisoners’ belongings.
