The Iranian regime held its own sham Syria summit in Tehran, describing the recently established Syrian opposition coalition as ‘plans of meddling by outsiders’.
“The initiative to hold this gathering in Tehran is a firm response to the meddling plans of outsiders,” said Iran’s foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi in this session in which one of Assad’s ministers also attended.
“It is not as they say that those attending this summit are followers of the Syrian regime. In fact, they include Syria’s religious leaders and elite and we will have open talks in this session,” Salehi said in an attempt to cover up the regime’s plots in holding this summit.
“Unfortunately, news has been published recently indicating various parties are considering to overtly send semi-heavy and heavy weapons to opposition forces in Syria, doing overtly what they have done covertly to this day,” Salehi added, revealing the mullahs’ fear of the Free Syria Army being armed with these types of weapons.
