
Iran’s official news agency ISNA admitted the freedom of action given to some government linked militant groups to enforce mullahs’ interpretation of strict Islamic dress code by any means including acid attack on young women and girls. ISNA said “the acid attack phenomenon on defenseless women in Isfahan is not the first time nor is going to be the last episode. This heinous act has been repeated through the time basically due to the lack of firm response by the government against the culprits.
Sharq daily cited a legal analyst as saying ’the experience has shown that when a judicial or legal issue which should remain in the jurisdiction of government to act, is left to proxy groups, the result would largely be tragic and consequences arise.
