Based on exclusive reports from inside Gohardasht Prison in the city of Karaj, west of Tehran, the authorities on Friday, February 19th installed jamming transmitters and these signals increased significantly throughout the prison.
Installing such devices in this prison is a method used by authorities to impose pressure and white torture on political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. The Iranian regime has decided to increase such pressures in light of the sham twin elections being around the corner.
The first impacts of such signals is severe headaches, dizziness, vomiting and losing appetite. Such symptoms have been seen in prisoners of hall 12 of Gohardasht Prison, and if such conditions continue it can lead to cancer for the inmates.
The prisoners say the signals are so strong that even TV programs aired in the prison are disrupted. Prisoners in hall 12 are completely isolated and held in a section lacking any air ventilation or windows.
Considering the very limited fresh air time the prisoners have, and the fact that they are mostly held inside the halls, installing such devices is without a doubt based on a pre-planned agenda that can lead to serious threats for the prisoners.
Political prisoners have expressed concerns in this regard and are calling all human rights organizations and activists to end their silence in the face of such torture methods.
