In response to the recent vicious raid carried out on ward 350 of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison by the Iranian regime’s authorities, the political prisoners of Gohardasht Prison in the city of Karaj have issued a statement condemning this horrific measure.
This statement, issued on Friday, April 18th, first provides a report on how this brutal attack took place by the repressive agents: “On April 17th over 100 repressive government agents stormed ward 350 of Evin Prison and through the most horrible measures, unprecedented in the past two decades, attacked and beat the defenseless prisoners.
“During this barbaric raid a number of inmates were taken to hospitals and 32 others were transferred to solitary confinement.
“As always, head of the regime’s Prison Organization denied everything and claimed there was no incident between authorities and political prisoners in ward 350.”
This statement went on to describe the reason behind this attack and emphasized the necessity to expand the support of human rights and international organizations for these prisoners.
“Such an animalist attack shows the government is taking its revenge from the defenseless prisoners and their families for the pressures imposed by the international community and human rights organizations for the regime’s systematic human rights violations, inability in resolving various crises, especially the economic problems and increasing internal power disputes.”
