More than 14,000 factories have closed down in Iran since 2005, the regime’s deputy industry ministry has admitted.
Seyed Abrichami told the regime’s state-run ISNA news agency: “Most of these plants have ceased operations between 2005 and 2013.
“Furthermore, 22,000 industrial plants are working at 50% capacity and 24,000 other units working with 50 to 70% of their capacity.”
Abrichami also said that 70% of the 81,000 production units installed in industrial areas across the country are on the verge of bankruptcy or have already filed for bankruptcy.
Surveys have shown that more than two thirds of industrial companies have ceased operations in Iran have filed for bankruptcy because of cash flow problems or lack of capital.
Rouhani’s economic advisor Mohammad-Bagher Nourbakht said that in 2012, the industrial production in Iran fell by 36%.
